The elementary librarian is assisted by a volunteer group of parents called "Bookends". This group reads selected books to the students and assists with Accelerated Reader Quizzes. Volunteers  may also shelve returned books, repair books, and help the librarian with book fairs and other special fundraising events throughout the year to expand the library's holdings. "Bookends" is a special committee of the R.P.O. (Runnels Parents Organization) Any parent is welcome to join! Contact the "Bookends" coordinator (bookends@runnels.org) if you would like to volunteer.
