The elementary librarian is assisted by a volunteer group of parents called "Bookends". This group reads selected books to the students and assists with Accelerated Reader Quizzes. Volunteers may also shelve returned books, repair books, and help the librarian with book fairs and other special fundraising events throughout the year to expand the library's holdings. "Bookends" is a special committee of the R.P.O. (Runnels Parents Organization) Any parent is welcome to join! Contact the "Bookends" coordinator (email@example.com) if you would like to volunteer.

Celebration Book Club
The Celebration Book Club was created to give members of the Runnels School family a way to celebrate an occasion, honor an event, or remember a loved one. To participate, complete the form and return your donation to the elementary librarian. Your donation will be used to purchase a book of your choice. A bookplate will be made and placed in the newly acquired book to announce your participation in the Celebration Book Club.
The Elementary Library participates in several ongoing commercial label redemption programs. During the 2008-2009 school year the money received from label redemptions totaled over $2000! The elementary librarian used these funds to buy additional books for the Elementary Library. Please don't underestimate the importance of this program! It brings much needed funds to our library.
