There can be no doubt about the preeminent role that computers and related electronics will play in the lives of our students as they grow to maturity.  At Runnels School they will have ample opportunity to become comfortable with these tools that will grant them access to almost limitless sources of information, communication and entertainment.  As they progress through the Runnels School curriculum, students will gain computer literacy through many modes of instruction: dedicated formal programs such as "Accelerated Reader," stand-alone classroom computers for enrichment and technology-based instruction, Smart Board interactions in labs and in the classroom, digital presentations by classroom teachers, and immeasurable other ways.

A full-time technology coordinator schedules exciting and challenging projects for students in grades K-6 to experience in our Elementary Computer Lab that has 22 dedicated work stations, a digital projector, and a Smart board.  Teachers integrate technology into their classes in junior high and high school through access to two large computer labs, two smaller ones, laptops, digital projectors, 2 Smart Boards, at least one computer station in each room, and a 20 unit mobile laptop cart.

All teachers, as well as students in grades 7-12, communicate through our Runnels School Webmail system.  All students in grades 7-12, as well as all faculty members, are provided with memory storage space through our secure on-campus servers that are backed up on a daily basis.  Wireless networks are available campus-wide.

All faculty members have an array of software available to enrich their classroom presentations, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Geometer’s Sketchpad, Inspiration, Cognitive Tutor Adaptive Math Solutions, and several more.  Runnels School is committed to providing state-of-the-art technology tools for it's students and faculty.
