Runnels Varsity Athletics

Senior baseball players Josh Morris and Alden cartwright were selected to the 2013 LHSCA All-Star Doubleheader. Selected by baseball coaches from across the state, this honor is given to the best baseball players in the state.. The All-Star Baseball Doubleheader will be played at North Park in Denham Springs on May 24th and 25th.

Senior Madelinn Fink won 1st place in the class 2A - 100 meter hurdles at LSU's Bernie Moore Track Stadium. She placed 4th in the 300 meter hurdles and 2nd in the long jump. Madelinn is the first girl in Runnels School history to become a state outdoor track & field champion.

Andrew Brouillette placed 5th in the 3200 meter run at the LHSAA State Track meet.

We are so proud of Madelinn and Andrew who have represented Runnels School in their high school years!

The Runnels Boys and Girls Tennis teams competed in Regionals and came up short. It was a hard fought season and Congrats go out to all the Raiders!!  

Here is a picture from our amazing day volunteering at the Cajun Classic Wheelchair Tennis Championships! We are so proud of the team and their efforts...many were on the court retrieving balls for the wheelchair players for 4 hours straight! Those that participated in the event were: Samantha S., Brad S., Jordan T., Leila & Waleed S., Vivian & Sean J., Emma F. Sarah C., and Abi M. Thank you to all who participated.

Grant Welch and Dylan Miller played in the Boys Metro Golf Tournament in Zachary. Grant made the All-Metro Boys Golf Team.  Grant shot a 77 and placed in the top 10 to move on to District play. In District held at LSU, Grant shot a 78 and finished 5th to advance to Regionals. At Regionals held at Santa Maria, Grant shot a 74 and tied for 3rd advancing to the State Boys Golf Tournament to be held in Shreveport, LA on April 29th and 30th.  Good Luck to Grant!!!

Taylor Kennedy competed against 22 other girls from our local area in the Girl's Metro Tournament which was held at Beaver Creek Golf Course in Zachary.  Shooting her best competition round to date, Taylor shot even par (72) to become the 2013 Baton Rouge Metro Tournament Individual Girls Champion. Congratulations to Taylor on her outstanding performance!

Josh has accepted a Baseball Scholarship to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Josh will become a NSU Demon come Fall of 2013.  Runnels School wishes Josh the very best!

Congratulations to Alden Cartwright

Alden accepted a verbal commitment to play Baseball at LSU in the fall of 2013.  We at Runnels are so very happy and excited for Alden and his family.  RHS is so proud to recognize #22 as one of our own.

Andrew and Matthew Brouillette signing with SELU

Brouillette brothers are signing with SELU XC/Track. It's official, both Andrew and Matthew have commited to Southeastern Louisiana University to run cross country and track. Congratulations to our running Raiders!!!
