Top Scorers in American Mathematics Competition ()
Seventh grader Connor Matthews placed first overall at Runnels in the American Mathematics Competition 8 (AMC 8) for middle school students. Connor’s score qualified him for the National AMC 8 Honor Roll and put him in the top five percent of test-takers nationwide. He placed ninth in Louisiana.

A group of Runnels High School students developed a whole new perspective on the subject of physics this January when they took a field trip to the theme parks at Universal Orlando, where they road some of the most technologically advanced roller-coasters in the world to collect scientific data on their velocity, acceleration, and elevation.
