Lady Raiders Take District Volleyball Crown


The Lady Raiders captured the Division V, District 4 volleyball title by defeating the Brighton Bengals 3-2 at the Senior Night game held Oct. 21 in the Catalano Gym.
Leading the team to victory in the last home game of the season were seniors Karli Hebert with 20 assists and 5 aces, Rachel Hargrove with 13 kills, and Jenna Carballo with 15 digs. 
After the game, the team honored its three graduating seniors for their many contributions to the program with a Senior Night presentation in the gym. Jenna, Rachel, and Karli were presented with flowers, presents, speeches, and cookie cake. After their families had been introduced, the seniors gave bouquets of flowers to their moms and goody bags to their dads and grandfathers.
Senior Jenna Carballo was recently recognized for making the 2019-20 LHSAA All-Academic Volleyball Composite Team for maintaining a grade point average of 4.0 over six consecutive semesters.
On Oct. 30, the varsity team plays LSD in an away game at 5:00 p.m. 
Congratulations to head volleyball coach Jean Martinez and varsity players Emma Allerheiligen, Jenna Carballo, Emma Collett, Natalie Fairley, Ali Guerin, Summer Guerin, Rachel Hargrove, Karli Hebert, Caroline Pousson, Lindsey Huynh, Ansley Brown and Emma Schlotterer and manager Josh Freeman.
